Reston Weekly Forecast

RESTON, VA -- A cold front is on its way to the region this week, and that could mean an end to our "flash drought" with some fierce summer storms in the Reston area. Despite having a wet May and June, there hadn't been measurable rainfall in the D.C. area since June 27 despite the fact that this is peak thunderstorm season. But expect that to change this week. The week will begin with lots of hot mugginess on Monday, but by Tuesday, showers and storms are likely to roll in, and then weather should take a turn for the pleasant later in the week -- with storms getting back in the forecast by the weekend. The flash drought is just about to end. A cold front is on its way to the region this week with some reported fierce summer storms. Despite May and June being wet, there hasn’t been any rainfall in the DC area since the 27th of June. Humidity is to be expected on Monday. The rain is expected to come on Tuesday and should carry on until the weekend. Fans of MLB wouldn’t be too happy about this as it might disrupt the All Star Game held in DC but there are reports that say that the bulk of the rain will be done before the game starts.
